Sean Charters enters his first season on the Cortland men's soccer staff in 2019 after spending the prior two years as the Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Greenport High School. Making the playoffs in both seasons, Greenport won the 2018 Section XI Class C Boys Soccer championship for the first time in school history (Four Section XI championships overall) and finished the season as regional finalists.

A native of Greenport on Long Island, Charters is a 2012 graduate of Greenport High School. He earned all-conference and all-league honors, along with a Section XI Class D championship in 2008, as a four-year starter in soccer. He also played basketball.
