Skyler Hoyt joins the Cortland coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2020 season after a stellar four-year playing career with the Red Dragons. In 179 career games she batted .311 with 18 homers, 28 doubles, four triples, 97 runs batted in and 81 runs scored and graduated ranked seventh in program history in homers and 14th in RBI.
Hoyt earned first team All-SUNYAC honors in both 2018 and 2019 and was a third team all-region honoree in 2018. She also was chosen to the 2017 NCAA regional all-tournament team after homering three times and helping the Red Dragons advance to the super regional round. In all, Hoyt helped Cortland win SUNYAC titles and advance to NCAA play three times (2016, 2017 and 2019).
A native of Endicott, N.Y., and a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, Hoyt earned a bachelor's degree in inclusive special education from Cortland in December 2018. She began work toward a master's degree in recreation education in the spring of 2019 while playing her final season with the Red Dragons. Hoyt attended St. Peter's University in New Jersey during the 2014-15 school year.
