Lydia Allen enters her fourth season as Cortland’s diving coach in 2020-21. During the 2019-20 season, one of her Red Dragon divers, Taylor Williams, earned All-America honors and was the regional 1-meter champion.
Allen is a 2015 graduate of The College at Brockport, where she competed as a diver for four seasons. Allen was the SUNYAC runner-up and an NCAA alternate on the 1-meter board as a senior and was a Scholar Athlete Award winner in her junior season. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary arts for children, and she minored in music and psychology.
A Cortland native, Allen is a competitive gymnastics team coach and Head Xcel Coach at CNY Gym Centre in DeWitt, and a dance teacher at Cortland Performing Arts Institute, in addition to her role as Cortland’s diving coach.
