Abbey Stowell joined the Cortland coaching staff in the fall of 2022 and works primarily with the teams' sprinters, hurdlers and horizontal jumpers.
Stowell is a 2022 graduate of Ithaca College with a bachelor's degree in exercise science and strength and conditioning. She competed in the multi and throws for four years for the Bombers. Stowell won the 2019 All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) outdoor heptathlon title and was runner-up earlier that year in the AARTFC pentathlon. She also was the 2022 Liberty League heptathlon runner-up.
A native of Cold Spring, N.Y., Stowell graduated from Haldane High School. She competed in track and field and basketball on the scholastic level, earning multiple all-league, all-county, all-section and all-state titles.
