Brian Burns begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Cortland women's basketball team in 2024-25.
Burns currently serves as an assistant athletic director at Onondaga Community College, a position that he has held since 2023. Prior to Onondaga Community College, Burns was an associate athletic director at Mount Saint Mary College from 2021 to 2023, and as coordinator of athletic operations at Sullivan County Community College from 2018 to 2021.
The Ellenville, NY native has prior collegiate coaching experience as an assistant baseball coach at Sullivan Country Community College from 2018 to 2019, and was an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater SUNY Plattsburgh from 2013 to 2018. He also served as the JV boys baseball head coach and varsity boys baseball assistant coach at Northern Adirondack from 2014-17.
Burns was a standout on the baseball diamond at Plattsburgh from 2010-13, earning third team ABCA/Rawlings All-New York Region recognition and second team All-SUNYAC honors in 2013.
