Nate Ashton enters his second season as a cross country/track and field coach for SUNY Cortland. He also works as a USATF Pole Vault Video Analyst, a role he began in 2015. Prior to Cortland, Ashton was on staff at the YMCA Bolts Track Club in Norwich, N.Y., from 2013-15.
While with the Bolts Track Club, Ashton coached multiple athletes to top-three finishes at the USATF Hershey Youth Outdoor Championships.
Ashton earned a Bachelor's of Science in Kinesiology in 2016 from SUNY Cortland, where he was a four-year member of the cross country and track and field teams. During his time as a Red Dragon, Ashton was a member of indoor and outdoor track and field teams that captured SUNYAC Championships.
A native of Norwich, N.Y., Ashton competed in football, cross country, basketball and track and field at Norwich High School.
