Eric Manning re-joined the Cortland women's golf coaching staff during the 2020-21 school year. He previously worked with the program in 2008.
Manning has served as Director of Instruction at the Elm Tree Golf Club in Cortland since July 2017. Previously he served as PGA Head Golf Professional at the Cortland Country Club from 2008-17, and was the Assistant Golf Professional there from 1999-2006. He's also been elected as president of the CNYPGA assistant's association.
Manning tied for 15th place at the 2008 PGA Professional National Championship to earn a spot in the field at the PGA Championships in Michigan. Manning won Central New York PGA Championship events in 2006 and 2007 and is a four-time winner of the CNY Open. He was named the CNY PGA Player of the Year from 2005-07. Manning was a member of the South Africa Tour in 2001 and was the runner-up at the 2000 Ben Hogan Tour Event. He's also a multiple winner on the Space Coast Tour, and has competed at the BC Open twice.
The Plattsburgh, N.Y., native played at Florida Southern College. Among his collegiate teammates was 2008 U.S. Open runner-up Rocco Mediate. Manning turned pro in 1987.
