John Briggs enters his second season as an assistant coach on the Cortland women's ice hockey staff in 2022-23. Prior to Cortland, Briggs served as an assistant coach for the Rockland Rockies Women's High School hockey team from 2019-21, as well as the 16U Tier 2 Boys' Valley Eagles and 18U Tier 2 Boys' Skyland Kings.
Briggs, who also currently holds the position of Assistant Golf Professional at Skaneateles Country Club in Skaneateles, N.Y., played junior hockey in New Jersey and junior and semi-pro hockey in Scotland. He received a bachelor's degree in coaching from Cortland in 2022 after previously attending Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland.
A native of Suffern, N.Y., Briggs is a graduate of Suffern High School where he played four years of hockey and competed on the golf team for two years.
