Katie Zimmerman enters her first season as an assistant coach for the Cortland women’s ice hockey team in 2013-14 after a four-year playing career at Hamilton College. Zimmerman previously worked as a counselor at the Hamilton College Women’s Prospect Camp and served as an ice hockey coach at Camp All-Star in Maine.
Zimmerman, who received a bachelor’s degree in communications and was named to the Dean’s List at Hamilton, earned All-East Region and honorable mention D3hockey.com All-America honors as a senior. She was named team MVP and second team All-New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) as a junior and senior and was selected to the NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team in 2010.
A native of Plymouth, Mich., Zimmerman earned first team all-state honors in ice hockey at Plymouth-Salem High School.
