Bill Stanbro enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Cortland women’s soccer team in 2021. Stanbro, who has completed the NSCAA Goalkeeping 1, 2 and 3 level courses, also coaches goalkeepers at the Syracuse Development Academy, assisting for the SDA ’05 girls.
Previously, Stanbro served as an assistant coach for the Lansing High School girls’ varsity team as well as the goalkeeping coach for the Dryden High School boys’ and girls’ junior varsity and varsity squads. Stanbro also was the goalkeeping coach for United FC - Binghamton of the Women’s Premier Soccer League.
A 1991 graduate of the University at Buffalo with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Stanbro earned All-America honors in wrestling. He is the all-time wins leader in program history and was inducted into the UB Hall of Fame in 2013.
In 2017, Stanbro retired from the New York State Police, where he was a Defensive Tactics instructor, School Resource Officer and Field Training Officer.
