The 2018 season is Brooke Barbuto’s first as an assistant coach on the Cortland women’s soccer staff. Barbuto also currently serves as a coach for the Syracuse Developmental Academy and previously was the head coach of the women’s soccer program at Bryant & Stratton College.
Barbuto, who earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business from Stony Brook University in 2009, was a four-year starting midfielder for the Seawolves. As a senior, she earned first team All-America East and second team all-region honors and was named team MVP. In her junior season, Barbuto was a first team all-conference and all-region selection and received all-academic accolades. She was second team all-conference and all-region and named to the America East All-Academic Team as a sophomore and earned a spot on the America East All-Rookie Team as a freshman.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Barbuto played four years on the girls’ varsity soccer team and one season on the boys’ varsity soccer team.
