Ashley-Marie Mahealani Whiting enters her first season as an assistant coach in 2011.
Prior to Cortland, Mahealani Whiting served as an assistant coach for the varsity girls’ volleyball program and head coach of the junior varsity girls’ volleyball program at St. Andrew’s Priory. She also was assistant and head girls’ volleyball coach at the Na’Opio Volleyball Academy and most recently assistant girls’ volleyball coach for the U14 Canyon Volleyball Club.
Mahealani Whiting, who played professional volleyball in Germany, earned a bachelor’s degree from Chaminade University and a master’s degree from Trident University. While at Chaminade, she was a two-time team captain on the volleyball team.
A native of Mililani, Hawaii, Mahealani Whiting earned all-state honors in volleyball and softball at the Iolani School. She currently resides in Cortland with her husband, Zach, who is an assistant coach for the Cortland men’s basketball team.
