Alice Kahrs enters her third season on Pam Hoerup’s staff in 2012 after a four-year career with the Red Dragons from 2004-07. Previously, Kahrs served as an assistant coach at SUNY New Paltz in 2008, helping lead the Hawks to the NCAA Division III “Elite Eight.” She also was an assistant coach at CUNY Hunter during the 2009 season.
Kahrs, who earned a bachelor’s degree in speech and language disabilities at the College in 2008, was a two-year captain for the Red Dragons and ranks sixth in career total blocks and seventh in career solo blocks. As a senior, she earned All-SUNYAC honors and was awarded Cortland’s Red Letter Award and the M. Louise Moseley Award. Kahrs was also a member of the SUNYAC Commissioner’s List.
A native of Kings Park, N.Y., Kahrs competed in volleyball, basketball and track at Kings Park High School.
