Brianna Richardson begins her first season on the Cortland women's volleyball coaching staff in 2019. She joins the Red Dragons after serving as an assistant coach alongside current Cortland head coach Erin Glickert at Division I Syracuse University during the 2018-19 school year. The Orange finished 19-9 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament during its first-ever NCAA appearance.
Richardson is a 2018 graduate of The College at Brockport with a bachelor's degree in sport management and coaching. A four-year middle blocker for the Golden Eagles, she was an honorable mention all-region selection as a sophomore and a junior and a two-time All-SUNYAC selection (first team in 2016, third team in 2015). She helped Brockport win three consecutive SUNYAC titles from 2015-17. The 2015 squad went 34-2 and advanced to the NCAA Division III second round and the 2016 team was 34-4 and won two NCAA playoff matches.
Richardson also competed as a hurdler and triple jumper for four seasons at Brockport. She scored at both the 2015 SUNYAC indoor and outdoor meets in multi-events (pentathlon/heptathlon), the 2017 outdoor championships in hurdles and triple jump, and the 2018 indoor and outdoor meets in hurdles and triple jump.
A native of Syracuse, Richardson graduate from West Genesee High School in 2014. She advanced to the state track and field championships in the triple jump in 2013 and pentathlon in 2014 was the school's Athlete of the Year as a senior.
