Sam Halpern

Sam Halpern enters his first season as an assistant coach on the Cortland women’s volleyball staff in 2017 after serving as the team’s statistician for two years. Halpern also serves as a summer baseball coach for Clifton Park-Halfmoon (N.Y.) and as an assistant varsity baseball coach at Homer (N.Y.) High School.

Halpern graduated from Cortland with a bachelor’s degree in physical education and is scheduled to receive his master’s degree in health education from the College in December 2017. He competed on the Cortland men’s club volleyball team as a libero for four years, earning EIVA North Division All-Star honors as a junior.

A native of Clifton Park, N.Y., Halpern graduated from Shenendehowa High School in 2012. He competed in volleyball and baseball, serving as a team captain for the baseball squad.
