Amber Rice

Amber Rice, MS, ATC, joined the SUNY Cortland Athletic Training staff in February 2024. She works with the football and softball teams, and she serves as a preceptor for the athletic training master's program.

Rice graduated from Cortland with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in December 2019, and she earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion, with a concentration in Sports Psychology, from California University of Pennsylvania in December 2021. Prior to joining the Cortland staff, Rice worked as an athletic trainer at St. John Fisher University from February 2021 to January 2024. She worked with football, women's soccer, baseball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, and junior varsity men's basketball. She also assisted with inventory and scheduling and served as a work study manager.

Rice is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer and is licensed in New York State. She's a member of the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) and is CPR and AED certified through the American Heart Association.
