Cason Stafford joined the coaching staff for the Cortland men's and women's soccer programs ahead of the 2026 season.
A 2026 graduate of Colgate University with a degree in psychology, Stafford was a four-year starter on the soccer team from 2022-25. He played in 65 games with 57 starts as a midfielder for the Raiders, contributing 12 points on two goals and eight assists, and was an All-Patriot League honoree as a junior in 2024.
Stafford has previous coaching experience at the high school levels in the Central New York area, serving on the staff at Cincinnatus High School, Marathon High School, and Hamilton High School in various roles since 2022.
A native of Willet, N.Y., Stafford graduated as class valedictorian from Cincinnatus High School in 2022. He was a five-year member of the soccer team, recording 116 goals and 104 assists for his career and was an All-Section III honoree and a five-time All-CCL selection. He was also a member of the basketball and baseball teams at Cincinnatus.
