Mark Sanchez joined the Cortland coaching staff working with the team's offensive line in 2025.
Sanchez comes to Cortland from Lake Forest University in Illinois, where he coached the offensive line during the 2024 season. The Foresters finished the season 10-1, including a 10-0 regular-season mark and one of the top-eight seeds in the NCAA Division III tournament. Lake Forest averaged 40.1 points and 415.5 yards of total offense per game, set a team record with 36 rushing touchdowns and allowed just 15 sacks in 11 games. Two of the team's offensive linemen earned D3football.com all-region honors.

Sanchez spent three seasons as an assistant coach and assistant athletic director at NSU University School in Davie, Florida. A graduate of SUNY Brockport, Sanchez served as an assistant coach with the Golden Eagles, working with the offensive line in 2018 and with fullbacks and tight ends in 2019. The Golden Eagles won Empire 8 titles and advanced to the NCAA Division III tournament second round in both of those seasons.

Sanchez started at center over 35 games for Brockport in four seasons from 2014-17. During his senior year in 2017, the Golden Eagles finished 13-1, including a 7-0 mark to win the Empire 8 crown, and advanced to the NCAA semifinals. He served as a team captain and earned D3football.com honorable mention All-America honors. Sanchez was a four-time All-Empire 8 selection, including first team honors as a junior and a senior. He graduated in 2018 with a bachelor's degree in sports management and a minor in coaching.

A native of Castle Hill, N.Y., in the Bronx, Sanchez is a 2014 graduate of Harry S. Truman High. He earned all-conference honors and was named the team's Most Valuable Lineman.
