Riley LaTray

Riley LaTray begins her first year as the lead assistant coach for the Cortland women’s lacrosse team in 2026.

LaTray joins the Cortland staff after most recently completing postgraduate studies and continuing her lacrosse career during the 2024-25 school year at the University of Nottingham in Nottingham, England. While overseas, she helped her team win the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) England national championship, as well as the BUCS 6’s England national title. LaTray earned a Master of Science in International Tourism Management and Marketing from the University in 2025.

A standout on the lacrosse field as an undergraduate at Niagara University, LaTray scored 130 points on 23 goals and a program-record 107 assists across 50 games for the Purple Eagles from 2021-24, including leading the team and Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in assists during both her junior and senior seasons.

As a senior in 2024, LaTray scored 71 points on nine goals and 62 assists, shattering her own single-season assist school record from the previous year and breaking the MAAC single-season assist record. She finished the year ranked second in Division I in assists, and fifth in the nation in assists per game. LaTray helped guide Niagara to its first-ever MAAC tournament title, providing a goal and an assist in a win over nationally-ranked Fairfield in the conference championship game, and the Purple Eagles advanced to the NCAA Div. I playoffs for the first time in program history. LaTray also set a Niagara single-game program record with eight assists in a win over Quinnipiac during the 2024 regular season.

In 2023, LaTray recorded 54 points on 12 goals and 42 assists, leading the conference and ranking 18th in the country in assists, while initially breaking the Niagara single-season assist record.

Also a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection in 2023 and 2024, LaTray graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management from Niagara in 2024.

A Syracuse, NY native, she graduated from Jamesville-DeWitt High School in 2020, where she was a member of the basketball and lacrosse teams and earned All-Salt City Athletic Conference honors.
