Shannon Scotto joined the Cortland coaching staff as a volunteer assistant coach in the 2026-27 school year after a standout four-year playing career with the Red Dragons.
Scotto played first base and shortstop during most of her Red Dragon career and started all 150 games in which she appeared. She posted a .315 career batting average with 29 doubles, 94 RBI, 54 runs scored and 30 walks. She was a first team All-SUNYAC and first team NFCA All-Region 3 selection as a sophomore, and in her senior year she earned second team All-SUNYAC recognition. Scotto also was chosen to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Softball Academic All-District team during her sophomore, junior and senior years.
Scotto is a native of Putnam Valley, N.Y., and a 2022 Lakeland High School graduate.
