Stefan Sabol joins the Cortland baseball coaching staff in the 2022-23 school year.
Sabol played collegiately at the University of Oregon in 2011 and at Orange Coast College in 2012 before being drafted by the New York Mets in the 17th round of the 2012 MLB draft. He played five seasons in the Mets' organization, reaching the AA level in 2016.
A native of Aliso Viejo, Calif., Sabol was a four-year varsity starter at Aliso Niguel High School. He was an Aflac All-American in 2009 and the South Coast League MVP in 2010. Ranked the number-two prep catcher by Perfect Game, he was a 17th-round draft pick by the Atlanta Braves in 2010 before electing to attend Oregon. Sabol played in the prestigious Cape Cod Collegiate Summer League in 2011.
Sabol is currently a development officer in Cortland's Division of Institutional Advancement.
