Zack Durant joined the Cortland baseball coaching staff in 2023 after a standout pitching career with the Red Dragons. He appeared in 40 games, 39 as a starter, from 2019-22 and posted a career 19-7 record with a 3.40 ERA. In 174.2 career innings pitched he allowed 142 hits and 69 walks and struck out 154 batters.
Durant finished 5-0 in 2022, 6-1 in 2021 and 7-4 in 2019. He earned first team All-SUNYAC, second team ABCA all-region and D3baseball.com third team all-region honors in both 2019 and 2021. Durant attended Siena College and Herkimer Community College prior to his arrival at Cortland.
A 2015 grad of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, he earned all-county and all-state honors in both baseball and football and also lettered in basketball.
