Mitch broke his own school record in the hammer throw with a winning distance of 57.98 meters (190' 3") at the Cortland Classic. His performance currently ranks second nationally in Division III. In all, Couch registered three ECAC-qualifying performances at the meet. In addition to his hammer throw, he finished second in both the discus (47.35 meters/155' 4") and the shot put (15.02 meters/49' 3.5").
