FREDONIA, N.Y. – Freshman
Robby Reiser (Melville/Half Hollow Hills East) scored one minute, 41 seconds into overtime to lift the Cortland men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Fredonia St. Friday afternoon in SUNYAC action.
Senior
Bryan Merlos (Harrison) assisted on the goal for Cortland (7-5, 4-1 SUNYAC), which has won four consecutive contests, all conference games. Junior goalie
Tim Beauvais (Hilton) earned his fourth shutout of the season with four saves. Goalie A.J. Grecco also stopped four shots for Fredonia St. (4-8, 1-3).
After a scoreless 90 minutes of soccer, the Red Dragons wasted little time in grabbing the road win. Merlos sent a perfect through ball past the Fredonia St. defense to a streaking Reiser, who finished off with a shot to the right side of the goal for his first score of the season.
