Carrie Stoddard (Liverpool) hit a pinch-hit RBI single later in the inning, and two batters later Alicia Hibbard (Canastota) hit a two-run double to give Cortland the lead.

Fredonia tied the game in the seventh on Alyssa Morgan's two-out RBI single. In the bottom of the seventh, Nicole Gallo (Mount Sinai) reached on an error to start the inning. Pinch runner Jennifer Ranieri (West Islip) went to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a one-out sacrifice bunt by Briana Barca (Eastchester) and scored on Kadish's single to left.
