The Red Dragons opened up a 3-0 lead at the half. Sanzone started the scoring with a rebound goal on the right side at 9:58. Smith then struck for back-to-back scores. At the 27:23 mark, she finished off a give-and-go with Vogl on a penalty corner and lifted a high shot over Thomas at 32:43 to make it 3-0.

Just 2:56 into the second half, Stein deflected a pass from O'Brien into the cage at the left post on a penalty corner to stretch Cortland's lead to 4-0. Light tallied Elmira's goal at 43:29, blasting a long, low shot that deflected off a defender and over Perricone.

The Red Dragons finished off the game with the final four goals. Smith scored her third of the game with another shot lifted inside the post off Guerin's assist on a penalty corner exactly three minutes after Light's score. At 58:36, Vogl tucked a penalty-stroke shot inside the left post to make it 6-1. Less than four minutes later, Sanzone picked up her second goal of the game, deflecting in Vogl's pass inside the right post.
