ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Cortland swept a non-league doubleheader at Nazareth, holding on to win the first game, 6-5, and capturing the second game in five innings, 9-0.
The Red Dragons improve to 23-13 with the victories. Cortland completes its SUNYAC regular-season schedule at Oswego Saturday. The Red Dragons are 12-4 in league play, technically ahead of Oneonta (11-3), but a game behind in the loss column.

Erin Wolstenholme (Oneonta) sacrifice fly and taking the lead with three runs in the fourth on a
Carrie Stoddard (Liverpool) pinch-hit two-run double and a
Meaghan Kohler (Franklin, NJ/Warren Hills Regional) RBI single.
Nazareth made things interesting with two runs in the fifth on a Sophia Rhoades RBI double and an error on a stolen base play that allowed a run to score. The Golden Flyers had the tying run on third with one out, but
Alexandrea Flint (Dalton/Keshequa) recorded a strikeout and a pop-up to end the inning.
Flint allowed a one-out hit in the sixth, but that runner was stranded at second.
Sarah Salamone (Liverpool/Cicero-North Syracuse) entered to start the seventh. She gave up a leadoff single to Rhoades, but got the next batter to ground into a double play and induced a groundout to end the game for her first save.
Amber Corrigan (Montgomery/Valley Central) started and earned the victory with four innings of four-hit ball. She gave up three runs, one earned, with four strikeouts and four walks. Mary Greco allowed six runs, three earned, on seven hits and a walk and took the loss.
Cortland scored twice in the first on an
Alicia Hibbard (Canastota) RBI double and
Devynn Wilder (Oswego) RBI single. Nazareth tallied three in the first on an error after a strikeout, a Sarah Cipperly RBI single and another error.
Hibbard finished 2-for-3 with a walk and RBI and
Diane Cork (Wayland/Wayland-Cohocton) walked twice. Rhoades was 2-for-3 with a walk and RBI, while Cipperly and Maureen Rogers each finished 2-for-4.
GAME 2: Cortland 9, Nazareth 0 (5 inn.) (Box Score)Salamone, fresh off earning the save in the opener, pitched the first four innings of the nightcap for her 11th win in 13 decisions this spring. She gave up four hits, struck out two and walked none.
Jamie Lachall (Aston, PA/Sun Valley) retired the side in order in the fifth. The game was called at that point due to the eight-run rule.
Cortland put a run on the board in the first when Cork singled, Kohler doubled and Hibbard hit an RBI grounder to second. The Red Dragons' four-run third featured a Hibbard two-run double, followed by Wolstenholme's first homer of the season that extended the lead to 5-0.
The Red Dragons put the game away in the fifth on a Wilder RBI double, a two-run error and a
Mikayla Shade (Bethlehem/Bethlehem Central) sacrifice fly.
Wilder was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Hibbard went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Wolstenholme ended 1-for-3 with her two-run homer and Cork reached base in all three of her plate appearances with a sngle and two walks.
Cipperly was 2-for-2 for Nazareth (8-16). Danae Wetherbee allowed five runs in three innings and Nicole Bayona gave up four unearned runs over two innings in the circle.
