Tara Monaghan (Stony Point/North Rockland) scored six times and classmate
Ashley Gentile (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) added five goals and an assist to help lead the nationally fourth-ranked Red Dragons to a 21-8 victory at Buffalo St. in a SUNYAC women's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon. Gentile became the 41st player in program history to record 100 career points for the Red Dragons. She currently has 104 points on 95 goals and nine assists.
Cortland, who has already clinched the top seed, will host the SUNYAC Tournament next weekend and finishes the regular season 15-1 (8-0 SUNYAC) and Buffalo St. closes out the regular season with a 5-11 (2-6 SUNYAC) record and will be the sixth seed in the conference tournament. Â Â

Kristen Ohberg (Brewster) had two goals and two assists, junior
Nicole Bello (Camillus/West Genesee) netted two goals with one assist and freshman
Madison Kandoth (Chestnut Ridge/Albertus Magnus) and junior
Elise Bennett (Webster/Webster Thomas) each tallied a goal. Senior
Marilyn Farrell (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) had four assists and freshman
Hannah Elmer (Syracuse/West Genesee) recorded one assist.

Jaclyn Beshlian (Wantagh) started in goal for the Red Dragons and registered 4 saves in 50:45 before giving way to junior
Liz Ingalls (Centerport/St. Anthony's) who stopped two shots in the final 9:15. Hayes-Hurley won nine draw controls and picked up four ground balls. Senior
Melissa Halstead (Miller Place) caused three turnovers.
Alanna Herne led the Bengals with five goals and an assist. Meghan Farrell tallied one score and one assist and Christina Krowel and Alexis Wilensky each recorded a goal each. Goalie Colleen George recorded 11 saves, Cassie Saint-Vil won four draws and Sarah Lorusso collected three ground balls.
Monaghan opened up the scoring for Cortland with an early goal but Buffalo St. answered just over two and a half minutes later with a goal from Herne. Monaghan would score again for the Red Dragons, but Farrell followed it up with a goal for the Bengals. Cortland then scored 10 of the next 13 goals to close out the half on four goals from Monaghan, three from Hayes-Hurley and one from Bello, Ohberg and Gentile. Herne scored the three goals for the Bengals during that run. The Red Dragons led 12-5 at the break.Â
Cortland continued to increase its lead in the second half with six unanswered goals. Gentile scored three and Bello, Ohberg and Bennett scored one a piece to increase the lead to 18-5 with 18:45 to play. Herne and Wilensky scored back-to-back goals for the Bengals but Kandoth would come right back with a goal of her own for Cortland. Krowel scored the last goal of the afternoon for Buffalo St. with 6:02 remaining and Gentile and Hayes-Hurley closed out the scoring for the Red Dragons with the final two goals of the game.
