CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior
Ashley Gentile (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) registered career highs of seven points and six goals to lead the nationally fifth-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team to a 20-7 win versus Oneonta Tuesday afternoon in SUNYAC action at the Stadium Complex. The host Red Dragons won their 60th consecutive home game and improved to 10-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The visiting Red Dragons dropped to 4-8 and 1-2.
Sophomore
Kristen Ohberg (Brewster) added four goals and one assist for Cortland as eight players overall netted at least one goal. Senior
Emma Hayes-Hurley (Huntington) tallied three goals and one assist, junior
Tara Monaghan (Stony Point/North Rockland) totaled two goals and two assists and junior
Nicole Bello (Camillus/West Genesee) had two goals and one assist.

Marilyn Farrell (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) recorded one goal and three assists for the Red Dragons, sophomore
Kaitlin Antelmi (Bridgeport/Chittenango) scored a career-high three points on one goal and two assists, junior
Elise Bennett (Webster/Webster Thomas) netted a goal, while freshman
Hannah Elmer (Syracuse/West Genesee) contributed two assists and junior
Elizabeth LaComb (Syracuse/West Genesee) chipped in with one assist.

Jaclyn Beshlian (Wantagh) raised her record to 7-0 on the season for Cortland, making two saves in 38:58. Junior
Liz Ingalls (Centerport/St. Anthony's) stopped two shots over the final 21:02. Hayes-Hurley won a game-high 11 draw controls, while Gentile secured three draws. Elmer collected three ground balls, and Farrell caused two turnovers.
Freshman Taylor Casey (Garden City South/Kellenberg) led Oneonta with four goals to raise her season total to 46. Seniors Michelle Genovese (West Islip), Nikki Fioretti (Yorktown Heights/Yorktown) and Nicole Boylan (Massapequa) each netted a goal with Genovese adding an assist. Senior Jillian Donodeo (Holbrook/Sachem East) chipped in with one assist.
Junior Rori Stark (Brewster) earned the start in goal, making three saves in 46:15 before giving way to freshman Autumn Moore (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker), who stopped one shot over the final 13:45. Senior Marissa Makar (Yorktown) registered three ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Cortland scored the first 11 goals of the game before the first half was half over. Ohberg connected for four consecutive goals and Gentile scored three times during the decisive run. Casey scored her first of the game at 12:55 before Bennett and Antelmi notched back-to-back goals for a 13-1 Cortland lead. Casey ended the first half with her second of the contest 19 seconds before intermission.
The host Red Dragons' lead grew to 20-2 as they opened the second half with a seven-goal outburst in the first 11:17. Gentile netted three goals and Hayes-Hurley found the back of the net twice. After liberal substitutions by Cortland late in the game, the visiting Red Dragons closed the second half with the final five goals, including two in the last 30 seconds, for the 20-7 final score.
