CANTON, N.Y. – Jethro Dede scored an unassisted goal in the 84th minute to give the nationally fifth-ranked St. Lawrence men's soccer team a come-from-behind 2-1 win versus 22nd-ranked Cortland Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Sophomore
Chris Hettler (Hauppauge/Smithtown West) scored for the Red Dragons (5-1). Senior goalie
Joe Brandofino (East Northport/Commack) made six saves.
Noah Bunton tallied the Saints' (6-0) first goal of the game. Goalkeeper Mike Smith registered four saves.
Hettler gave Cortland a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute, converting a free kick from just outside the box for his second goal of the season. Bunton evened the score at 1-1 in the 40th minute when he was successful on a penalty kick. Dede then tallied the game winner with 6:19 remaining in regulation to earn the win.
