PINE VALLEY N.Y. – Five different players scored goals as the nationally fifth-ranked Elmira women's ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 5-0, in ECAC West action Saturday afternoon to sweep the home-and-home weekend series.

Louisa Lippiatt Durnell led the Soaring Eagles (9-2-2, 8-0 ECAC West) with one goal and two assists. Sarah Hughson, Maddy Jerolman and Shannon Strawinski each had a goal and an assist, Johanna Eidensten scored a goal and five others each added an assist.

Elmira goalie Kyle Nelson made nine saves before giving way to Jamie Humphrey, who did not stop a shot over the final 5:14. Cortland senior goalie Kelly Farinella (Marlton, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) turned aside 45 shots.
