ELMIRA, N.Y. – Six different players scored goals as the Elmira men's hockey team defeated Cortland, 6-3, in non-conference action Friday night. The Red Dragons had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 6-6-1 on the season, and the Soaring Eagles improved to 5-8.
Junior
Andrew McCann (Bowmanville, ON/Wellington Dukes) netted a pair of goals for Cortland, and junior
Paul Fregeau (Los Angeles, CA/Des Moines Buccaneers) added a goal. Senior Casie Garrison (Cortland/Philadelphia Revolution), juniors
Darren McCormick (Buffalo/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and
Drazen Zack (East Greenbush/Connecticut Oilers) and freshmen
Nico Gonzalez (Buffalo/Toronto Jr. Canadiens),
Connor Beck (Richmond Hill, ON/Toronto Jr. Canadiens) and
Stefano Alonzi (Maple, ON/Burlington Cougars) each recorded an assist. Junior goalie
Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) registered 29 saves.
Nick Ford and Mitch Atkiins led the Soaring Eagles with one goal and one assist apiece. Kenny Tencza, Connor Powell, Andrew Pucci and Cameron Mack each netted a goal. Tyler Theodourou and Harry Kramer collected two assists apiece, and five others each registered one assist. Goalie Sal Magliocco made 31 saves.
