UTICA, N.Y. – The Utica women's ice hockey team broke open a close game after two periods with five third-period goals, including three in a 1:31 span, en route to a 6-0 victory versus Cortland Friday afternoon in ECAC West action. The Pioneers improved to 15-8-1 overall and 10-6-1 in the conference, while the Red Dragons fell to 3-20-1 and 2-14-1.

Kelly Farinella (Marlton, NJ/New Jersey Rockets) made 27 saves. Keira Goin stopped all 25 shots she faced in earning the shutout for Utica.
Six different players scored goals for Utica led by Elizabeth Dohner, Taylor Dion and Carlie Smith with one goal and one assist each. Taylor Oswoski, Victoria Pelton and Lauren Patterson also netted goals. Gabrielle Schnepp and Kendra Mac recorded two assists apiece, and five others each registered one assist.
The same two teams close out their regular seasons tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Cortland.
