ITHACA, N.Y. – Jack Flood (Blue Point/Bayport-Blue Point) set a new SUNYAC and school record in the heptathlon at the Ithaca Bomber Invitational for men's indoor track and field.

Flood finished first overall with a score of 5,155 points. He broke the previous conference and school record of 5,140 points set by teammate Connor Christopherson (Morrisonville/Saranac) last month.

Flood, who now ranks first nationally for Division III, scored over 750 points in four out of seven events. He registered 855 points in the 60-meter hurdles (8.52, an ECAC qualifier), 785 points in the long jump (6.88 meters/22' 7", an ECAC qualifier), 765 points in the 1,000-meters (2:50.09), and 758 points in the high jump (1.95 meters/6' 4.75", an ECAC qualifier).

Nick Vachon (Johnson City/Maine-Endwell) placed first in high jump with a height of 2.03 meters (6' 8"). This ranks Vachon 14th nationally in men's high jump. Competing in the 3,000-meters, Cabel McCandless (Lindenhurst) clocked in a fourth-place time of 8:59.44.

Storm Malone (Harrison/Highland) placed third in the 60-meters hurdles with an ECAC-qualifying time of 8:35 seconds. Aaron Granger (Delevan/Pioneer), competing in the 800 meters, recorded a sixth-place finish of 1:57.69.

Enoch Jemmott (Brooklyn/South Shore), Romain Saint Germain (Westbury), Liam Joyce (Dryden) and Noah Serrette (Lawrence) placed second (1:31.92) in the 4x200-meter relay.

Cortland returns to action next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 10-11, at the Boston University Valentine Invitational, and next Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Cornell Kane Invitational.
