CORTLAND, N.Y. – Senior
Kristen Ohberg (Brewster) scored a game-high seven points on three goals and four assists and became just the fifth player in Cortland program history to eclipse 200 career goals as the nationally 17th-ranked Red Dragons defeated Oswego, 16-6, in women's lacrosse SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon at the Stadium Complex.
Ohberg, who now has 202 career goals, joins Lindsay Abbott (256), Maria DiFato (244),
Tara Monaghan (236) and Jeanna Angotti (211) in reaching the exclusive mark.
Senior
Makenzie Annable (Navarino/Onondaga) matched her career high with four goals to lead Cortland (11-3, 6-0 SUNYAC). Senior
Nicolette Tortorici (Deer Park) and freshman Lexie Meager (Syracuse/West Genesee) each netted three goals. Sophomore
Carly Stone (Syracuse/Jamesville-DeWitt) tallied two goals and two assists, freshman
Molly Newton (Skaneateles) scored a goal, and junior
Hannah Elmer (Syracuse/West Genesee) and freshman
Brie Yonge (Penn Yan/Penn Yan Academy) recorded one assist apiece.

Jaclyn Beshlian (Wantagh) made seven saves. Tortorici won five draw controls, junior
Jaycie Annable (Navarino/Onondaga) recorded three ground balls and two caused turnovers, and Ohberg and junior
Katie Wolfe (East Amherst/Williamsville North) each scooped up three ground balls.
Sophomore Teresa Shattuck (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) paced Oswego (6-7, 4-3 SUNYAC) with five points on two goals and three assists. Senior Kendall Appelbaum (Buffalo/Nichols School), juniors Gemma O'Kane (Memphis/Bishop Ludden) and Seanna Laneve (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) and sophomore Toni Lanever (Syracuse/Bishop Grimes) netted one goal apiece.
Junior goalie Angela Ponto (Syracuse/West Genesee) made 19 saves, caused two turnovers and scooped up five ground balls. Sophomore Danielle Walker (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) caused three turnovers, and senior Kelsey Henderson (Cazenovia) and junior Nicole Granteed (Liverpool/Bishop Ludden) each recorded three ground balls.
Cortland took a 7-3 lead at the half, spurred by a five-goal run that broke a 2-2 tie. After Oswego pulled to within 8-5 just before the midway point of the second half, the Red Dragons took control of the game with five consecutive goals for a 13-5 lead with 9:19 to play. Ohberg registered her 200th goal at the 15:01 mark.
Seanna Laneve ended the Cortland run at 7:19, but the Red Dragons closed the game with the final three goals, one by Ohberg and two from Meager, for the 16-6 final.
