BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Sophomore Jake Kaufman (Poughkeepsie/Spackenkill) scored his second goal of the season 5:47 into overtime to lead the nationally eighth-ranked Cortland men's soccer team to a 3-2 win at Brockport in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Red Dragons improved to 14-1-2 overall and wrapped up their conference slate at 8-1. The Golden Eagles dropped to 11-4-2 and 5-2-2.

Freshman Anthony Ruggiero (Holtsville/Sachem East) scored Cortland's first two goals. Juniors Jake Keller (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham), Miguel Tunas (Carmel/North Salem) and Michael Miner (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa) each recorded an assist. Junior goalie Sean Kelly (Coram/Newfield) made three saves.

A.J. Sinclair and Matthew Stefaniw netted the goals for Brockport with Jeff Hibbard and Quintin Volpe collecting assists. Tautis Poniskaitis started in goal, making five saves in 69:59. Joseph Romano stopped three shots in 25:48.

Ruggiero gave Cortland a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute with a shot into the bottom left corner. He then put the Red Dragons ahead 2-0 in the 52nd minute off an assist from Tunas. The Golden Eagles rallied with two goals in the final 10 minutes to send the game into overtime. Sinclair scored on a header off a corner kick in the 81st minute, and Stefaniew tied the game in the 89th minute with a header deep in the box. In overtime, Ormsby fed a pass to Kaufman who buried the game-winner into the lower left of the goal to earn the 3-2 victory.

Cortland closes out its regular season at home versus Hartwick on Tuesday, Oct. 23 before hosting the winner of Buffalo St. vs. Oneonta in the SUNYAC Semifinals on Wednesday, Oct. 31 at a time to be determined.
