CORTLAND, N.Y. - Junior goalie
Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) turned aside all 27 shots he faced in posting his first career shutout as the Cortland men's hockey team defeated Lebanon Valley, 4-0, Saturday night at Alumni Arena in a non-conference game that was delayed one hour and 48 minutes due to equipment failure.

Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) led four Red Dragons (1-1) goal scorers with a goal and an assist. Freshmen
Shane Beaulieu (Brooklin, ON/Powassan VooDoos) and
Jacob Gaydos (Sandusky, OH/Wisconsin Rapid Riverkings) each netted his first career goal, and sophomore
Alex Storjohann (Phoenix, AZ/Kirkland Lake) scored the game-winner in the first period.

Junior goalie Tyler Perhac (Monroeville, PA/Palm Beach Hawks) registered 32 saves for the Flying Dutchmen (1-1).
Storjohann opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the game with a one-timer from the right circle after a Perichak face-off win. Beaulieu made it a 2-0 game on the power play at 3:10 of the second period on a wrist shot from the left side. With the teams skating four aside, Gaydos lifted a shot under the crossbar 52 seconds before the end of the second period to put Cortland ahead, 3-0, Perichak finished off the scoring at 15:12 of the third on a deflection of Sciore's pass.
