CORTLAND, N.Y. -- Senior Migell Ormsby (Kingston, Jamaica/DeWitt Clinton) scored a pair of second-half goals to lead the nationally 18th-ranked Cortland men's soccer team to a 2-0 win versus Plattsburgh in SUNYAC action Saturday afternoon at the Stadium Complex.

Freshman Anthony Ruggiero (Holtsville/Sachem East) picked up an assist for Cortland. Junior goalie Sean Kelly (Coram/Newfield) made one save in earning his eighth shutout of the season. Sophomore goalie Ryan Wilson (Poughkeepsie/Arlington) turned away two shots for Plattsburgh.

Through the first 45 minutes of action, Cortland outshot Plattsburgh, 4-0, with the only real scoring chance coming in the 40th minute when junior Jake Keller (Wappingers Falls/Roy C. Ketcham) curled a 25-yard shot just wide left.

Ormsby scored the game-winner in the 60th minute, curling a 25-yard shot from the left side inside the right post on a loose ball. He added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute. On a quick counter, Ruggiero fed a pass to a streaking Ormsby down the left side. Ormsby ran onto the ball and ripped a shot inside the right post from the left side of the box. The Cardinals tried to pressure in the closing minutes but could not generate a quality scoring chance as Cortland earned the 2-0 victory.
