Red Dragons Blanked at Morrisville, 4-0

MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Morrisville men's hockey team broke open a 1-0 game with three goals in the final 7:10 of the game to earn a 4-0 victory versus Coretland Friday night in SUNYAC action. The Mustangs improved to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Red Dragons fell to 2-3 and 0-2.

Junior goalie Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) registered 34 saves for Cortland. Goalie Jorgen Johnson stopped 43 shots for Morrisville.

Jimmy Philbin and Ryan Bochert led the Mustangs with one goal and one assist apiece. Daniel Golba and Nick DeVito each netted a goal, and four players collected an assist.

Golba made it a 1-0 game at 11:59 of the opening period. After a scoreless second period, DeVito tallied a power-play goal at 12:50 before Bochert and Philbin scored even-strength goals at 15:36 and 19:08, respectively, for the 4-0 final. The same teams meet Saturday at 7 p.m.
