BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Cortland men's hockey team scored goals in the second and third periods to erase a 2-0 deficit and earned a 2-2 overtime tie at nationally 14th-ranked Buffalo St. Saturday night to pick up a key point in the SUNYAC standings. The Red Dragons are now 8-12-1 overall and 3-8-1 in the conference. The Bengals' record stands at 15-5-3 and 8-3-3.

Michael Faliero (West Seneca/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and senior
Tommy Nolan (Mahopac/Connecticut Oilers) netted the goals for Cortland. Sophomores
Connor Beck (Richmond Hill, ON/Toronto Jr. Canadiens),
Martin Lavallee (Goose Bay, NL/Nepean Raiders) and
Douglas Elgstam (Stockholm, Sweden/New Jersey Rockets) and freshman
Logan Blaser (Aurora, ON/Brockville Braves) each recorded an assist. Senior goalie
Drew Weigman (Annapolis, MD/Northern Cyclones) registered 24 saves.
Anthony Passero and Vadim Vasjonkin scored goals for Buffalo St. Ben Butcher, Cody Symonds, Mac Wood and Reid Bibb each contributed an assist. Goalie Ian Sylves made 28 saves.
The Bengals grabbed a 2-0 lead after the first period as Passero scored at 9:56 and Vasjonkin tallied his goal at 14:03. Faliero's power-play goal at 9:16 of the second period cut Cortland's deficit to 2-1. Nolan netted the game-tying goal just 1:29 into the third period. In overtime, Cortland held a 3-1 shot advantage.
