CORTLAND, N.Y. - Seven different players scored goals as the Cortland men's hockey team put up its highest-scoring output of the season in a 7-3 victory versus Brockport Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons improved to 9-12-1 overall and 4-8-1 in the conference, while the Golden Eagles fell to 11-11-1 and 5-8-1.
Sophomore
Sean Perichak (Oakville, ON/Markham Royals) led Cortland with one goal and two assists. Sophomore Nico Gonzalez (Rochester/Toronto Jr. Canadiens) tallied one goal and one assist, and senior
Dan Broderick (White Plains/New York PAL Islanders), junior

Senior Aidan Verbeke (Elmwood Park, IL/Granite City Lumberjacks) and juniors Tim Kielich (East Aurora/Buffalo Jr. Sabres) and Connar Bass (Calgary, AB/WayWayseecappo Wolverines) scored for Brockport.  Senior Zac Sikich (Oak Park, CA/Granite City Lumberjacks) collected two assists, while four others recorded one assist apiece.
Sophomore Matt Schneider (Manlius/Florida Eels) started in goal for the Golden Eagles, making six saves in 33:12. Junior Jake Moore (Arcade/Springfield Pics) turned aside 13 of the 14 shots he faced.
Cortland built a 5-1 lead through two periods on the strength of three power-play goals. Brockport cut the deficit to 5-3 with goals just eight seconds apart just past the midway point of the third period. The Red Dragons sealed the win with a short-handed empty-net goal at 18:52, after Brockport pulled Moore, and a breakaway goal with 21 seconds remaining.Â
