UTICA, N.Y. – Zach Borsoi scored two third-period goals, including an empty-net score, to lead the Utica men's hockey team to a 3-0 win versus Cortland Saturday night in non-conference action. The Red Dragons dropped to 8-11 on the season. The Pioneers improved to 12-6-1.

Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) registered 44 saves for Cortland. Goalie Gianluca Baggetta stopped 24 shots for Utica. Conor Landrigan added a goal for the Pioneers, and six players picked up one assist each.
After a scoreless first period in which Modica made 25 saves, the Pioneers took the lead with a power-play goal from Landrigan at 18:04 of the second period. Borsoi made it a 2-0 score with the man advantage at 11:24 of the third period, and Borsoi completed the scoring with an empty-net goal at 18:49 after Cortland pulled Modica for an extra skater.
