OSWEGO, N.Y. – Senior
Molly Quinlan (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) scored her team-high ninth goal of the season early into overtime as the Red Dragons earned a 2-1 victory at Oswego Saturday in SUNYAC action. The Red Dragons won their sixth overtime game of the season and improved to 10-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference. The Lakers fell to 3-8 and 1-3.
Quinlan also added an assist, and junior
Brynn Crocker (Harpursville) netted her second goal of the season for Cortland. Senior goalie
Marisa D'Amico (Smithtown/Smithtown West) registered one save.
Theresa Glynn scored Oswego's goal with Leah Romanowski collecting an assist. Goalie Erica Scheblein made seven saves, and Megan Delaney and Abby Testo each recorded a defensive save.
Crocker put Cortland ahead 5:07 into the second quarter, tapping in a pass from Quinlan. Glynn tied the game with 6:45 left in regulation to send the game into overtime. In the extra session, Quinlan tallied her fifth game-winning goal of the season 2:36 into overtime when she dribbled around Scheblein and scored into the open goal.
