Molly Quinlan (Fayetteville/Fayetteville-Manlius) scored 1:20 into overtime as the Cortland field hockey team defeated Misericordia, 1-0, Saturday evening in non-conference action. The Red Dragons improved to 4-1. The Cougars dropped to 2-4.

Marisa D'Amico (Smithtown/Smithtown West) stopped one shot for Cortland. Goalie Katelyn Campbell made seven saves for Misericordia.
After a scoreless 60 minutes of regulation, Quinlan scored the game winner early in overtime when she dribbled past a defender on the left side of the cage and beat Campbell one-on-one.
The Red Dragons outshot the Cougars, 15-3, and held an 8-2 advantage in penalty corners in the game.
