CORTLAND, N.Y. - The Brockport men's hockey team built a 3-0 lead through two periods and held off a Cortland rally to hold on for a 3-2 win in SUNYAC action Tuesday night at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons dropped to 12-10-1 overall and 5-9 in the conference, while the Golden Eagles improved to 15-8-1 and 8-6-1.

Junior Logan Blaser (Aurora, ON/Brockville Braves),sophomore Ethan Homitz (Allison Park, PA/New Hampshire Monarchs) and freshman Nick Grupp (Depew/Brantford 99ers) each collected an assist. Senior goalie Nick Modica (Suffern/New Jersey Hitmen) turned side 29 shots.

Junior Danny Rock (Souderton, PA/New York PAL Islanders) led Brockport with a goal and an assist. Senior Doc Gentzler (Manhattan Beach, CA/Hartford Jr. Wolfpack) and sophomore Jake Colosanti (Buffalo/Gilmour Academy) each scored a goal. Senior Chris Pollini (Wolfeboro, NH/New Hampshire Monarchs) recorded two assists, and senior Hunter Laslo (Birmingham, AL/New Hampshire Monarchs) and sophomores Jordan Renaud (Russell, ON/Amherst Ramblers) and Mitchell Parsons (Grandville, MI/Connecticut Rough Riders) each chipped in with one assist. Senior goalie Matt Schneider (Manlius/Florida Eels) made 22 saves.

Rock gave the Golden Eagles the lead at 14:13 of the first period with a wrist shot between the circles. Colosanti made it a 2-0 game at 9:41 of the second period on a deflection in front, and Gentzler's deflection at 10:51 put Brockport ahead 3-0.

Tierney put Cortland on the scoreboard at 3:27 of the third period. Grupp stole a pass and fed a pass over to an open Tierney at the left side of the crease, who found the open left side of the goal. With under a minute to play, the Red Dragons started to pull Modica for an extra skater and ended up making it a 3-2 game as Esposito scored on a scramble in front just before Modica got to the bench. Cortland pulled Modica again in the closing seconds but could not net the equalizer as Brockport held on for the win.
