With the win, the Red Dragons improved to 9-4-3 and advanced to face second-seeded Plattsburgh on the road in the semifinals next Wednesday. The Golden Eagles took a 3-1 lead into the half. Polcaro opened the scoring in the ninth minute, touching a shot inside the right post past a charging Ramonetti. Rodrigues tied the game in the 25th minute on a header off a corner kick serve from O'Shea. The tie was short lived as Longin banged a 20-yard shot off the left elbow just 56 seconds later to make it a 2-1 score. The advantage grew to 3-1 just 14 seconds before the half when Hotaling headed in a corner kick from Mascaro.
Cortland started its comeback on Galuzzo's goal in the 51st minute. After running on to a throw in on the left side, Galluzzo cut through defenders and curled a 22-yard shot into the upper right for her team-high ninth goal of the season. Cosenza evened the game at 3-3 in the 61st minute, touching in a cross from Galluzzo for her first career goal. Just over 10 minutes later, Klammer scored the game winner, chesting in another corner kick from O'Shea.
The Golden Eagles pressed for the equalizer late. In the 85th minute, Polcaro sent a 20-yard shot from the top of the box just wide right. In the 86th minute, senior Emily Davren (Pearl River/Nanuet) struck a loose ball in the middle of the box that was headed for the left corner, but Ramonetti made a diving save, sending the ball over the end line. On the ensuing corner kick, Davren had another chance, sending a clean header barely over the crossbar.
