Cortland Plays to 0-0 2OT Tie at Geneseo

GENESEO, N.Y. – The Cortland and Geneseo women's soccer teams played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in SUNYAC action Friday afternoon. The Red Dragons' record stands at 5-4-1 and 3-1-1 in the conference, while the Knights are 8-2-1 and 3-0-1.

Junior goalie Lexi Ramonetti (Northport) registered eight saves for Cortland in posting her third shutout of the season, improving to 3-1-1 in her five starts. Goalie Angel Bennett made eight saves for Geneseo.

Sophomore Simone Neivel (Syracuse/C.W. Baker) led the Red Dragons with six shots, two that ended up on goal, including a quality open look midway through the first half. As the minutes wound down in regulation, the Knights generated three shots, and Neivel and sophomore Bella Casucci (Smithtown/Smithtown West) each recorded a shot in the 90th minute, but Neivel's attempt went wide and Casucci's bid was blocked.

Geneseo outshot Cortland, 6-3, through the two overtimes with Ramonetti making two saves and Bennett turning aside one shot.
