CORTLAND, N.Y. – Junior goalie
Luca Durante (Brampton, ON/Aurora Tigers) made 28 saves in recording his first career shutout as the Cortland men's hockey team defeated visiting Buffalo St., 1-0, Friday night in SUNYAC action at Alumni Arena. The Red Dragons improved to 6-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 (14 points) in the conference. The Bengals dropped to 4-8 and 2-4 (6 points).

Shane Beaulieu (Port Perry, ON/Powassan VooDoos) scored his first goal of the season in the second period. Senior
Jacob Gaydos (Sandusky, OH/Wisconsin Rapid Riverkings) and junior
Jake Ballagh (Hamburg/New Hampshire Avalanche) each collected an assist.
Junior goalie Emil Norrman (Kungsbacka, Sweden/Dells Ducks) registered 49 saves for Buffalo St.
Each team went 0-for-1 on the power play in a scoreless opening period. Beaulieu netted the game winner at 9:08 of the second period when he deflected a shot from the point by Gaydos.
In the third period, Cortland had four power-play chances, while the Bengals had two opportunities but neither team could capitalize. Buffalo St. pulled Norrman for an extra skater with 52 seconds remaining but Cortland held the Bengals off the scoreboard and sealed the 1-0 victory.
The Red Dragons host Fredonia in conference action Saturday at 7 p.m.
