ONEONTA, N.Y. – The nationally 18th-ranked Cortland women's lacrosse team won 25-of-26 draw controls, including a career-high 17 by senior 
Hannah Lorenzen (Stony Brook/Ward Melville), to control much of the action in earning a 15-9 victory at Oneonta Monday afternoon in a matchup of unbeaten teams in the SUNYAC East division. The visiting Red Dragons improved to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference. The host Red Dragons dropped their first game of the season and sit at 2-1 overall and in the conference.
Freshman 
Toni Cashman (East Moriches/Westhampton Beach) paced the Cortland offense for the second game in a row, scoring four goals. Lorenzen and senior 
Emily Goebel (Penfield) each netted three goals. Senior 
Hannah Tiso (Somers) recorded a game-high five points on two goals and three assists, sophomore 
Kiki Meager (Syracuse/West Genesee) scored twice, junior 
Katie Goodrich (Jordan/Jordan-Elbridge) chipped in with a goal and senior 
Cecilia Procopio (Syracuse/West Genesee) contributed three assists.

Paige Potter (Cortland) made three saves for the Red Dragons. Procopio added three ground balls, Cashman and junior 
Amy Hoeffner (Bay Shore) each caused two turnovers and junior 
Shelby Meduski (East Quogue/Westhampton Beach) secured three draw controls.
Sophia Calabrese led Oneonta with three goals and one assist, while Christen Patalano also netted three goals. Maggee Sheridan, Deirdre Buckley and Tessa Hughes each tallied a goal, and Rachel Morris recorded an assist.
Goalie Jennifer Tumino made 12 saves. Haley Vermette caused three turnovers and registered four ground balls, and Nicolette Lospitalie caused three turnovers and scooped up three ground balls.
Cortland built a 7-1 lead with 7:53 remaining in the opening half as both Cashman and Lorenzen netted three goals. Oneonta closed the first half with three straight goals to make it a 7-4 score at intermission.
Cashman, Tiso and Goebel scored goals to open the second half to give Cortland a 10-4 advantage, but the host Red Dragons answered with their own three-goal run to to pull to within 10-7 at the 13:36 mark. After a Cortland timeout, the visiting Red Dragons took control of the game with four consecutive goals, including two from Goebel, for a 14-7 lead with 6:41 on the clock. Oneonta wrapped a pair of goals around a Cortland score in the closing minutes for the 15-9 final.
