CORTLAND, N.Y. – The nationally 18th-ranked Cortland field hockey team erased a 1-0 halftime deficit and improved to 9-0 on the season with a 4-2 victory versus St. Lawrence in non-conference action Wednesday night at the Stadium Complex. The Saints dropped to 5-4 with the loss.

Freshman Keirra Ettere (Mahopac/Lakeland) continued her streak of scoring at least one point in every game this season, pacing the Red Dragons with two goals. Junior Lily Fox (Northport) contributed one goal and two assists, and freshman Hanna Corrigan (Barneveld/Holland Patent) added a goal. Senior goalie Megan McGuinness (Carle Place) made six saves.

Senior Maggie Green (Dover, MA/Dover-Sherborn) registered a goal and an assist for St. Lawrence, and junior Mckenzie Haberl (North Falmouth, MA/New Hampton) chipped in with a goal. Sophomore goalie Lucy Adiutori (Rochester/Brighton) turned aside 10 shots, while freshman Suzanne L'Hommedieu (Blacklick, OH/Columbus Academy) recorded a defensive save.

After withstanding early pressure from the Cortland offense, Green gave the Saints the lead 6:19 into the second quarter when she knocked in a rebound at the left post after a Saint shot hit the right post and bounced across the goal mouth.

The Red Dragons wasted little time in tying the score in the second half. Fox possessed the ball on the right side and dribbled through several defenders to set up a shot that tucked inside the left post just 47 seconds into the third quarter. Less than four minutes later, Ettere notched her first goal of the game with a hard blast inside the left post. Corrigan pushed Cortland's lead to 3-1 39 seconds into the fourth quarter, finishing off an open shot in the middle of the circle after a penalty corner.

St. Lawrence cut the Cortland lead to 3-2 at the 54:18 mark. Green sent a pass from the right side to the left post where Haberl tapped in a shot into the open goal. Ettere answered just under two minutes later when she cut through the defense and finished off a shot one-on-one with Adiutori for her team-high 12th goal of the season as Cortland earned the 4-2 victory.
